So. This will be happening.
I’ll give this a try in February! Good to get me back in the hang of blogging.

In my work, we do a lot (A LOT) of powerpoint presentations / reports. One of our common design techniques is called a ‘before & after’ showing a visual to demonstrate the current state (plagued with issues) and the future state (roses and sunshine).
I just looked out my window and wanted to provide you all with my current before and after.
Before: Right now, Thursday in Columbus Ohio (in the office)

See? Plagued with problems, misting rain and grey skies.
After: Next week at our work retreat / planning meeting in Cancun, Mexico:

Color! Sunshine! Bare feet!

Easy weeknight recipe for you kids that meets my weeknight criteria:
Here goes:

Heat the oil in a pan and saute the potstickers for about 6-8 minutes (throw away the sauce it comes with). Chop bell peppers and snow peas, mix with salad and coleslaw mix. Dress with 2 TBSP of ginger dressing (hold back the salad you want have for leftovers tomorrow). Top with the cooked potstickers & enjoy
The real trick to this salad? The dressing - if you can find this stuff in the grocery it makes you feel like you’re out at a sushi restaurant!

On Sunday, the sun came out in all its’ weekend brilliance. It made the 25 degrees feel more than bearable, almost desirable. We prepped our food for the week in the kitchen and headed over to Austin & Ellie’s. The new smoker was in full force outside, and we played board games inside. The spread included a few out of season items (my tomato-basil-mozzarella skewers) and grilled vegetables. Smoked chickens, potatoes and homemade bread.
And, for a few moments, it made me believe that it really can stay forever summer.
