Welcome New Readers (and a short dissertation on my life)

Thanks to my darling little D.COE for the shining endorsement and kind words. She, too, is one of my favorite people. Therefore, by the law of transitive properties, hopefully you all will enjoy my blog & camp out for a while. 

Unless you have all day to troll my blog for personal details, here are a few ‘get-to-know-you highlights’:

I’m Amelia. Most people call me Meems or Meme, which stems from the simple fact that I couldn’t pronounce my own name until I was about 5 and Meme was as close as I could get. What’s funny is that my mother, Momma D, named me Amelia with the sheer intent that she couldn’t possibly think of a nickname to come from Amelia. It’s funny how those best made plans rarely work the way you want, right?

I have an awesome husband, Matt (also known as Mr. Saturday due to his love of all things related to Ohio State Football and tailgating related). We got married in July 2010, on my parent’s gorgeous farm. You can see some other pictures from our wedding here, here and here. We also have a little pup, Charles. He is the definition of terrible, and yet we love him with all our hearts. In one week he ate a loaf of bread off the counter, spicy tuna & shrimp tempura rolls (but left the ginger) and pee’d on the trashcan during Thanksgiving dinner. One of our favorite pastimes is making up stories about Charles, the potato chip CEO with a private jet and hopes for a presidential nomination.

By day I work for a small consulting firm, travel here & there and get to work with some really great people. Most days, I feel very fortunate to have found a job I like this much. 

If you stick around you’ll likely see a slight variation on the same things — my friends and our crazy theme parties, recipes worth trying, marathon training, my darling niece & world’s cutest nephew and finding trying to find humor in everyday happenings.  I also get lazy and post a lot of my instagram photos.
